Last Light
That last light of the day, when the sky is momentarily on fire: magenta and purple fading away, gold and orange flaring up at the horizon and reflecting in the water. It is one of my favorite moments of the day.
Sunsets are the moment for me to stop doing and just watch. Wherever you are, this light is always fleeting and effortless. Every few minutes you see a new work of art in the sky.

Details
Soft pastel is pure pigment with a velvety, luminous surface. I don't use fixative or varnish, as it dulls the colour and texture; the textured pastel paper holds the pigment in place. The surface therefore remains sensitive to touch, and a small amount of pigment may loosen over time. That is part of the medium and what makes an original pastel so special. Supplied unframed.

Framing
Always have a pastel framed behind glass, with a mat or spacers so the glass does not touch the artwork. UV-protective glass is recommended; it keeps the colours as they are for years to come. Any framer will know how to do this; just mention it is an unvarnished pastel. Keep the work out of direct sunlight.

I ship the work flat, between acid-free paper and rigid board, in protective packaging with tracking. Usually delivered within 4 working days in the Netherlands, and on average within 7 working days elsewhere.
