Press & Exhibitions

My work travels beyond my studio in Eindhoven: to galleries in the Netherlands and the United States, to art fairs and to an international art competition. Here you'll find where my art and my story have appeared.

Top 3 finalist, The Outstanding Artist 2026

In 2026 I was selected as one of twelve artists from around the world for The Outstanding Artist, the international art competition of the Milan Art Institute in Sarasota, Florida.

For five weeks I painted under time pressure, with new challenges every round and a jury judging every step. I made it to the final and finished in the top 3. My final piece 'She Carried Gold From the Dark' is now on view at Milan Art Gallery in Sarasota.

Artist statement

My work is inspired by the quiet moments when nature invites us to slow down and truly see. Through expressive paintings that blend elements of nature with abstraction, I explore the moments where observation becomes connection. Whether I am walking along the coastline, discovering the underwater world, or pausing to observe a beautiful butterfly or a flower, these moments remind me that beauty often reveals itself when we give it our full attention.

My mother's love for flowers surrounded my childhood with color and life, while sailing with my father sparked a lifelong love for the sea. Years of travel have taught me to slow down, observe more closely, and find inspiration in the quiet beauty that often goes unnoticed. These experiences find their way into my paintings through vibrant colors, luminous gold, expressive contrasts, organic forms, and layered textures that reflect the energy, light, and sense of wonder I experience in nature.

I do not paint nature as it appears. I paint the feeling of being fully present within it. I believe that when we slow down and truly look, nature becomes a mirror, revealing not only its own beauty, but something within ourselves as well.

In an increasingly fast paced world, I hope my work offers a moment of stillness. An invitation to pause, to look a little longer, and to rediscover the wonder that reminds us that the beauty we find in nature also lives within ourselves.
